Holmegaard

The story of Holmegaard began in 1825, when Countess Henriette Danneskiold-Samsøe established a glassworks in the marshlands of southern Zealand, Denmark. Carrying forward her late husband's vision, Henriette became one of Denmark's pioneering female business leaders, transforming a small glassmaking operation into the foundation of one of the country's most enduring design traditions.

Originally producing simple green glass bottles, Holmegaard soon expanded into fine drinking glasses and decorative glassware. Over the generations, renowned Danish designers, including Jacob E. Bang and Per Lütken, helped establish Holmegaard's reputation for innovative forms, elegant simplicity, and exceptional craftsmanship.

Today, Holmegaard continues to celebrate its rich heritage through beautifully designed glassware, home accessories, and treasured seasonal collections. Its annual Christmas collectibles have become a beloved tradition for families and collectors, capturing the warmth and nostalgia of a Danish Christmas year after year.

With more than 200 years of history, Holmegaard represents the enduring beauty of Danish design—where artistry, tradition, and everyday living come together in glass.
